There was a lot to see at this year’s LuxePack exhibition in Monaco, from the alluring beauty packaging to the engaging industry booths showcasing their packaging and design capabilities. LuxePack, the Luxury Goods Packing Exhibition, is an annual event where beauty innovators research and “shop” for eye-catching resources. As a contract manufacturing company that focuses on packaging beauty products, it was necessary to be informed of incoming trends that will be emerging in the market for the next few years.
So what are the trends that are going to highlight the beauty industry? LuxePack specialists observed four main trends that are on point with beauty, feminity and luxury.
1. 50 Shades of PINK
While pink is known for happiness, beauty innovators are captivating this hue in many of the packaging for a more sophisticated look and to add depth to any product. One could use a varying of shades in order to further exemplify the appeal of your product.
2. Optics of Illusion
The art of transforming one material to look like another is of true genius and it is also being employed by high-end designers in order to allow customers a certain look-see-touch experience. This Yves Saint Laurent perfume bottle adds a poignant emblem that can be an actual amethyst or just plain plastic.
3. Luxury Understated
According to LuxePack observers, “overt bling is being succeeded by controlled bling”. Which is to say that being a luxurioous brand does not mean you have to engrave a diamond into every space on your container. One dominant emblem of luxury is all that is needed and craved for further developments.
Products’ ingredient listings are now being found on the front of packaging as a decorative approach to packaging. Another added benefit is to educate consumers about product specs and to reinforce ingredient capabilities.
